In 2008, Cara started taking yoga classes at the YMCA, where she worked as the Controller. As a former gymnast and dancer, she was initially drawn to the movement of the practice; however, she soon noticed that yoga provided mental benefits, along with the physical benefits of increased strength and flexibility. Practicing difficult poses, and finally being able to do them, has taught her patience and perseverance. She has also realized that being present during class has helped alleviate stress and anxiety and that being more present in everyday life has led to greater contentment. Since the practice has made such a strong personal impact for her, she loves sharing yoga with other people and treasures sharing in their journeys.
